Phil Plait has had quite a career. He’s worked as a professional astronomer, lecturer, consultant, author… and yes, blogger.

I think this is key. His blog is successful because he was already successful and had a name people recognized and respected. I go to his blog because I enjoy his level-headed and slightly humorous approach to science. It’s refreshing. But I wouldn’t have gone in the first place if I hadn’t heard him interviewed some years back.

Plug-ins are everywhere in Eclipse so come learn about how to develop them! Depending on the audience, for the first half of the talk, I will discuss what a plug-in is and what tooling is provided around developing plug-ins. For the second half, I will discuss tips and tricks that can save you time in developing plug-ins and will also talk about some lesser known, but extremely useful, parts of PDE.
